Chapter 50 Wei Sihai’s Reply
When Lin Huai returned to the dormitory, the remaining people in his dormitory lined up in two rows and greeted him. Lin Huai smiled and said, “What is it? Are you guys doing that too?”
Fan Hanning smiled and said, “Brother Huai, this time around, all of us joined in the fight. Even someone like me who can not fight at all joined in as well. Now, we are all your loyal followers.”
“Haha, you are all my brothers.” Lin Huai patted Fan Hanning on the shoulder. The other guys from in the dormitory grinned as well. They all felt that Lin Huai really considered them as his own people.
Lin Huai told them to relax and take their seats. He then smiled and said, “Are we not going to throw a party tonight?”
Zhuang Bifan—who had the best family background among all of them—immediately stood up and said, “I will go and buy the alcohol.”
Zhuang Bifan’s face was swollen and had bruises all over. Out of all of them, he was in the worst shape. He had only managed to take two steps forward before collapsing onto the ground due to his knees giving out. Then, numerous people kicked him. For some unknown reason, even though he was embarrassed over getting beaten up, he felt extremely excited. He had never felt so exhilarated before.
Fan Hanning also stood up and said, “Let me accompany you, and get some food along the way.”
Lin Huai said, “Two bottles of liquor is enough. Beer won’t be satisfying enough because we have too many people. If we buy too little there won’t be enough to drink!”
“Okay, I will bring a few bottles of liquor back!”
Lin Huai added on and said, “There’s no need to buy top quality ones. You don’t have much money anyway.”
“Understood, Brother Huai!”
The both of them left and Lin Huai looked at Wu Mengjie and Wu Jun. He smiled and said, “The two of you were very fierce and daring today!”
Wu Mengjie smiled awkwardly. He said, “Far from it, Brother Huai. At the end of the day, you are the powerful one. You managed to single-handedly overcome more than ten people. I am guessing that you don’t know that all the freshmen from the computer science major treats you like an idol. However, there is something I have to tell you. Although you have chased Zhang Chunlei away, there are still a few sophomores in our major that are not willing to yield to your command. In other words, they won’t know how much it hurts until they get beaten up by you. The people who have been beaten up by you have surely acknowledged you as their leader.”
Lin Huai acknowledged and asked, “What do you mean?”
“I think… You should pay each class a visit. Alternatively, we can head upstairs now and pay every single dormitory room a visit. We can deal with the sophomores before working on the third year students.”
Lin Huai thought about it and suddenly asked, “Do all of you think that I want to be the gang leader of the college?”
Wu Mengjie smiled and said, “Brother Huai, what do you mean by that? You are already a gang leader at the moment. You have built a reputation for yourself. The entire college knows that the name of the computer science major gang leader is Brother Huai.”
Lin Huai awkwardly rubbed his nose and asked, “Am I that famous?”
Wu Jun said, “Yes, you are very famous now.”
Lin Huai’s eyes lit up. “In that case, there must be a lot of young girls that idolize me. Does that mean I will receive love letters everyday for the days to come?
Both Wu Jun and Wu Mengjie were at a loss of words.
Wu Mengjie jokingly said, “Brother Huai, aren’t you a couple with Mianmian now? You already have Wei Qimian, one of the four goddesses of this college as your girlfriend. Yet, you have your eyes on other people?”
With a serious look on his face, Lin Huai said, “Don’t mess around. I am only friends with Mianmian.”
Wu Jun and Wu Mengjie laughed, but deep down they did not believe a word that Lin Huai said.
Lin Huai continued, “She is pursuing me but I have not agreed to it.”
Wu Mengjie coughed and said, “Brother Huai, bragging is not a problem but this level of bragging is too much. Even I as your brother cannot flatter you.”
Lin Huai burst out laughing. Eventually, both Wu Jun and Wu Mengjie started laughing as well.
Fan Hanning and Zhuang Bifan opened the door and returned with quite a lot of snacks. The few of them moved a table over and sat around it. They took a few cups, opened the two bottles of liquor, and started drinking and snacking.
“Brother Huai, congratulations on taking command of the computer science major!”
“Congratulations!”
“Cheers!”
They drank until slightly past 11pm. Usually, the dormitory would turn the lights off at 10pm. However, it was different for Lin Huai’s dormitory room as nobody dared to control them. Therefore, even if they chose to stay up and party all night, nobody dared to say anything.
Once the two bottles of liquor were finished, the few of them lay on their beds, still unsatisfied. They chatted for a while more. Wu Mengjie sighed. “I heard that the other gang leader, Gao Mengchao, is also very pretty. She is a stone cold beauty.”
Zhuang Bifan said excitedly, “If only I can manage to court her. Then, not only can I walk freely around campus like a boss, I would also be dating a beautiful girl.”
Fan Hanning laughed and said, “Dream on! She is such a beautiful person, on top of being a gang leader. It will never be your turn to date her, at least Brother Jun and Brother Jie might still stand a chance.”
The ‘Brother Jun’ and ‘Brother Jie’ he referred to were Wu Jun and Wu Mengjie. Within their dormitory, Wu Jun and Wu Mengjie held the highest status apart from Lin Huai. The both of them were not related by blood. In fact, they had no ties with each other at all. Other than having the same surname, the other important similarity between them was that both of them were good at fighting, especially Wu Jun.
Wu Jun shifted his body and turned to face the wall. In a cold voice, he said, “I have no interest in her.”
Wu Mengjie licked his lips and said with excitement, “Although I do have interest in her, I do not have the opportunity. That kind of woman can only be handled by people of Brother Huai’s level.”
Lin Huai smiled and said, “The whole lot of you stop messing around. Go to sleep. We have to wake up early for school tomorrow.”
“Ah yes, time to sleep, time to sleep.”
Lights went off in the dormitory room but Lin Huai could not fall into deep sleep. Although he had some drinks and things were resolved in the computer science major, Lin Huai’s mind was still weighed down by concerns.
Lin Huai could not point fingers at Zhou Minghu and reprimand him for drug trafficking. There was no evidence, and he couldn’t use a few words from Wang Hongwei as evidence.
However, without solid evidence, there was no good reason to go after Zhou Minghu. However, it was impossible for Lin Huai to tolerate such behaviour. Lin Huai could not turn a blind eye to Zhou Minghu sending his followers to traffic drugs for him. Not only would the students be led into a trap, most importantly, Lin Huai himself hated drugs.
Lin Huai lay down on his bed, twisting and turning for quite a long time. Everyone else in the dormitory room had fallen asleep and one of them even started snoring. Eventually, Lin Huai fell asleep as well.
The next morning, Lin Huai met Wei Qimian at the canteen. He brought his dormitory mates along and sat with Wei Qimian. That made Fan Hanning and the rest of them extremely excited. They were like wolves that set their eyes on a prey, and Wei Qimian was the rabbit. Their eyes lit up, Zhuang Bifan started bragging, and Fan Hanning started telling stories. Wu Mengjie was also very chatty. Wu Jun was the only quiet one. Wei Qimian’s dormitory mate, Zhou Yuanyuan, looked like she was interested in Wu Jun. From time to time, she would try to strike up a conversation with him.
After they finished their breakfast, Lin Huai asked the rest of them to leave. Then, he asked Wei Qimian to come with him, just the two of them. Upon seeing the two of them leave alone, the rest of the people from both dormitories howled and wailed. Their teasing made Wei Qimian blush.
“There is no one else here. What did you ask me to come with you?”
Lin Huai looked around and made sure that there was nobody around. Then, he whispered, “I found out something yesterday. There are people in school who are trying to traffic drugs for gangsters outside the college.”
“Drug trafficking?” Wei Qimian’s expression changed and she cried out in shock.
“Yes!” Lin Huai smiled bitterly. He said, “Wang Hongwei told me so. That was the reason why he got beaten up and landed in the hospital, as he had overheard this secret. Zhou Minghu from the sports major is the mastermind behind it. I had already informed your father about this through the phone. I have also requested that he investigate this matter. Worst come to worst, he should expel Zhou Minghu so that such a troublemaker would be removed. That way, one tragedy is averted, and it would prevent the bad influence he might have on others. After all, if Yulan College had multiple students involved in drug trafficking, what would happen?”
Wei Qimian was distraught and she murmured to herself, “How could this happen, why are things like this happening… If that really happened, the college would be completely ruined. All my mother’s hard work and effort would also go down the drain.”
“Yes, that’s what I thought as well,” Lin Huai smiled bitterly and said. “Besides, that was from your perspective. From a larger perspective, the matter would be even more severe. Do you have any idea how many families would be ruined because of each batch of drugs they trafficked? Do you know how many families would be broken up and separated?
Wei Qimian bit into her lips. She suddenly turned around and started walking toward the direction of the administration building.
Lin Huai caught up with her and asked, “What are you doing?”
“I am going to look for the principal. I am going to let him know about this.”
Lin Huai flashed a bitter smile and said, “So what if you told the principal? Would he believe you? Where’s the evidence? Furthermore, there is no need to inform the principal as I have already informed your father about this. After all, your father is the actual owner and boss of this college. So even if there is no evidence, I believe he would be able to utilize other methods to get rid of Zhou Minghu. Once Zhou Minghu leaves the college, I believe this possible threat would be eliminated. I am not sure if Zhou Minghu would be involved in drug trafficking in the future. However, in the very least, it won’t happen in Yulan College.”
Wei Qimian agreed and her expression turned better. She asked, “When did you inform my father?”
“Yesterday afternoon. I am guessing that I would hear back from him sometime today,” Lin Huai smiled and said. “I am just letting you know. However, you don’t have to be too worried. I believe your father has already resolved this matter. Come, let’s head back for class.”
“Oh, alright…”
Lin Huai and Wei Qimian arrived at the bottom of the staircase of the classroom building. Just then, Lin Huai’s phone rang and he picked it up. He smiled and said, “Oh, the call is from your father. I guess he has news for us.”
Lin Huai took out his phone and picked up the call. He smiled and said, “Mr. Wei, I believe the matter has been resolved. Can Zhou Minghu be expelled?”
Wei Sihai replied solemnly, “I spoke to the principal yesterday afternoon and we discussed this matter. With regard to this, we really could not find any substantial evidence. After all, he also spent time and effort getting into this college. Something like this would greatly impact his future. Therefore, it would be a great inconvenience to expel him.”
Lin Huai’s voice turned cold and he said, “If there is substantial evidence, he would have already been sent directly to prison. The reason he should be expelled is because of the lack of evidence. Do you have any idea what his reputation in school is like? Have you not heard from the principal? Is it so difficult to look for a reason to expel him? Are you telling me that scumbags like him should stay in school and be educated?”
There was inexplicable emotion growing within Lin Huai and he started to get a little angry.
